Fresh Trees For Historic Downtown BRF!
Fresh Roots for Our Historic Downtown!
This morning, crews from Legacy Trees and the Black River Falls Street Department teamed up to plant 20 new trees along Main Street, bringing fresh beauty to our downtown!
The new hybrid elm trees were recommended by Legacy Trees for their ability to handle changing soil moisture conditions and their resistance to Dutch elm disease. As they grow, they’ll provide welcoming greenery and shade for businesses and visitors walking historic downtown Black River Falls!
The new trees replace the Japanese tree lilacs that had been in place for about seven years, and they also come with a five-year warranty from Legacy Trees !! Scheduled pruning will be done to help them grow properly and maintain clearance around downtown storefronts.
A big thank-you to Legacy Trees and our Street Department crews for their hard work and care for our community!
